Description

The obverse: in the center the Emblem of the Bank of Russia (the two-headed eagle designed by I.Bilibin), the letters under it indicate the metal sign, the fineness, the mint trademark and the fine metal content. The inscriptions along the rim framed by a circle of dots: at the top 50 1995 . (50 RUBLES 1995), at the bottom Ȼ (BANK OF RUSSIA).

The reverse: a view of the monument "Beating the Swords into Ploughshares" by Russian sculptor Yevgeny Vutechich with the UN Building in New York in the background, above - the UN emblem and the figure "50", the inscription along the rim at the top - ɻ (UNITED NATIONS ORGANISATION).

The UN was created to maintain and strengthen peace and promote co-operation between sovereign states. Its Charter was drawn up by representatives of the Soviet Union, the United States, Great Britain and China in 1944 and signed by representatives of 50 countries at a conference in San Francisco in 1945. It came into force on October 24, 1945, and ever since this day it is celebrated as the United Nations Day.
