Description

The obverse: in the centre the Emblem of the Bank of Russia [the two-headed eagle with wings down, lower the semicircular inscription Ȼ (BANK OF RUSSIA)] framed by a circle of dots and inscriptions along the rim: at the top ߻ (TWO RUBLES), at the bottom the year of issue 2006, the letters to the left indicate the metal sign and the fineness, to the right the fine metal content and the mint trade mark.

The reverse: to the left a portrait of O.K. Antonov, to the right the dates on the matted stripe 1906-1984, at the top three airplanes. The inscription at the bottom: » (ANTONOV).

Oleg Konstantinovich Antonov (1906-1984) Russian aircraft constructor who headed since 1946 the Experimental Aircraft Designers Office. Several airplanes including the AN-124 (Ruslan) were designed under the guidance of him.
