Description

The obverse: in the centre the Emblem of the Bank of Russia [the two-headed eagle with wings down, lower the semicircular inscription Ȼ (BANK OF RUSSIA)] framed by a circle of dots and inscriptionsalong the rim: at the top (TWO RUBLES), at the bottom the year of issue 2004, the letters to the left indicate the metal sign and the fineness, to the right the fine metal content and the mint trade mark.

The reverse: a portrait of M.I. Glinka with the facsimile signature of the composer .. (M.I.GLINKA) under it, lower a facsimile fragment of the music alnotation from the opera score Life Sacrificed for Tsar and the dates in two lines: 1804-1857, to the right a lyre with the olive twig, in the background to the right outlines of cupolas of the Moscow city.
